Loreen & Michael

My goodness! It was a very hot day. My first outdoor wedding at Balbirnie and boy was I cooking. Loreen and Michael must be one of the most laid back couples I have ever photographed, nothing fazed them and they were both very relaxed prior to the cermony. The day went without a hitch. A special thank-you to Michael's Granmother for the lovely chat.

Slow Time Mondays & Curious Fix gig shots

Last month my daughter and I were invited along to watch the Slow Time Mondays play at the Rothes Halls by their lead singer Ross Paterson (Ross teaches my daughter - Erin to play guitar and she is doing very well - thanks Ross!). I thought it would be a good idea to take the camera as I haven't shot a gig in years. We had a great night both bands were very good.

Curious Fix were a mix of early Manic Street Preachers and a wee bit of Placebo. The lead singer 'Pritch' put in a gutsy performance wearing full make-up and managed to escape in one piece!

Slow Time Mondays are a bit more difficult to describe. Ross's voice reminds me of Ian Curtis the legendary Joy Division singer mixed with Caleb from the Kings Of Leon. The music had hints of the Cure (A forest period), Martha and the muffins, The La's and much more. My personal favourite track is Space Invaders (guys, we should shoot a video for it).

Studio and location shots of the Slow time Mondays will be appearing soon - I have included an image from the studio session as a wee taster.

Cheers
Rob

Laura & Alan

Well done Laura and Alan, you had a bit of rain but you didn't let it dampen your spirits.
Multitasking! It's a good job I can tie a cravat as you can see from Alan's photos, although I don't know if he got it off again! Please note - this is a free service and is only available to my grooms.

Alison & Graham's wedding

Well folks what can I say, it was some day - I should have put my suntan lotion on. I hope my good luck with the weather continues.
It was nice to get out of Fife for a change. The church (Crighton Collegiate) was lovely and so was the majestic Oxenfoord castle. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of fantastic wedding venues we have in Scotland.
Alison & Graham were a joy to photograph - quite happy to go along with my ideas. The results above show what a fantastic day it was.

A big thank you to Alison and Graham for booking me to photograph their special day and also to Tracy for recommending my business (Tracey was a previous portrait customer).

Mary Jane & Blair's Wedding

Congrats to Mary Jane & Blair. What a great day, a nice couple and lucky with the weather - a killer combination!
Thanks for the positive feedback Blair (all the way from sunny Egypt at the time of writing).

Kirkcaldy Photographic Society

A big thank-you to Kirkcaldy Photographic Society for asking me to judge their annual club competition.

There was a great range of images on display from people as young as 14 and some who are even older than me! The subject range was quite diverse featuring images of garden sheds, cyclists, landscapes, macro shots of insects and much more.

There was a good healthy turnout for the results and although I was a bit nervous about assessing other folks images I managed to leave in one piece!

The overall winning image was a stunning black and white of children playing in an Edinburgh alleyway. It turned out to have been taken in the 1950's.

The top image is of myself in action. The second features myself with the winning photographers.
